RepCabin

The reps don't know our new client's pitch yet: agencies

Objection guide: Agencies and trainers. Updated .

The short answer

Teach the pitch by saying it. Pick the client's three hardest objections and have every rep take each call out loud before a live dial. Read the transcripts, fix what is weak, and run it again. Reps learn the client's words by using them, not by reading a script.

Why buyers say it

An agency signs a client and the calls start fast. Reps know their craft, but not this buyer or this offer. A deck and a briefing call do not tell you whether a rep can say the pitch under pressure.

How reps lose the deal on it

  1. They hand reps a deck and a script and hope. The first live objection arrives and the script has no answer.
  2. They run one group briefing. The reps nod, and no one finds out who cannot say it.
  3. They let reps learn on live leads. The client's best prospects hear the first rough attempts.

Stronger lines to say

  • “Before you dial a lead, take this client’s three hardest objections with the practice buyer. I’ll read your reviews tonight.”
  • “Don’t memorize the lines. Say the answers in your own words, and I’ll tell you which part is off.”
  • “Run it again after the review. The goal is a pitch you can say when the buyer interrupts, not one you can read.”

Questions reps ask about it

How many objections should a rep practice per client?

Start with the three that cost the client the most deals. Add more once those are steady. A short list practiced well beats a long list skimmed. Ask the client which objections they hear most.

Does practice replace a briefing?

No. A briefing explains the client. Practice shows who can say it. Brief first, then have each rep take the call out loud and review the transcript, so you find gaps before a live lead does.

What happens when a rep freezes mid call?

In practice calls, a rep who stalls gets two lines to say. The review quotes their words and marks the moment they lost the buyer, with a stronger line, so you can coach a specific sentence.
